Bettina Brokemper

Producer

After studying production and media business at the HFF in Munich, as well as an extended stay in Los Angeles, Bettina Brokemper settled as a producer in her hometown Cologne in 2001, where she founded her company Heimatfilm together with Helmut Hartl and Stefan Telegdy two years later. Her productions include the Berlinale winner BAL by Semih Kaplanoğlu, Margarethe von Trotta's global hit HANNAH ARENDT, Nicolette Krebitz's WILD, which was celebrated at Sundance, and Jan Bonny's WINTERMÄRCHEN, which premiered at Locarno. Bettina Brokemper, who repeatedly teaches at various film schools, is also the managing director of Zentropa Köln and has been involved as a co-producer in all of Lars von Trier's films since DOGVILLE. In 2006 Bettina Brokemper was elected "Producer on the Move" by the European Film Promotion and in 2008 she was awarded the Prix Eurimages for outstanding European co-productions. From 2010 to 2016, she was also a member of the Board of Directors of "Les rendezvous franco-allemands du cinema". In 2014, she was named "Cultural Manager of the Year 2013" by the Cologne Cultural Council. Bettina was a participant of the ACE Network and EAVE+, and is part of the EWA Mentoring Program. She is a member of the German Film Academy and the European Film Academy, where she's also a board member.
