Since, as a child of the coast only going to beach was pretty monotonous in the long run, I early discovered the appeal of the flickering TV screen (cinema was the first choice, but too expensive for a permanently broke teenager). The video tape collection grew rapidly and while my friends played soccer outside, I hunted demons with Ash, aliens with Ripley and White Russians with the Dude. Then I studied "something with media" (BA) and ended up at Heimatfilm via a detour through daytime TV, where I excel at solving IT problems by laying on hands and assisting the boss. Now I only go to the coast for vacation.
